Easter Egg Surprise

I really like Easter. It's a time where there's great sadness followed by great joy, and I think it is probably the happiest time in the entire Christian calendar. It's a time of rebirth -- hence the eggs! -- and of joy after the sad fasting period of Lent, and luxury food items can be consumed once again -- hence the chocolates!

It's also a time when the church has five or six Masses in the space of four days, and we the choir have to sing at all hours of day and night (and try our best to sound good while we're at it). We usually get a bit hoarse by Sunday evening ... but that's all part of the fun and somehow I look forward to it every year

Do enjoy the chocolates and bunnies and long weekend holidays; don't forget the meaning of Easter while you're at it!
